Motion Picture Synopsis
by James Bruner & Elizabeth Stevens

A former Marine defies the Federal Government by rescuing children who have been kidnapped from the US and sold into sexual slavery in South America. He's been shot, stabbed and thrown into jail, but what gives him the most pain are the hardships that his wife and daughter are forced to endure because of his drive to follow his calling.

..........................................................

It's a week before Christmas and TY RITTER is leaving for work. Work, in this case, is sneaking out of the country to rescue a kidnapped American boy in Rio De Janiero, Brazil.

Ty's wife, CHRISTINE, and daughter, LAURY, are scared for him - and for themselves. After all, Ty has just gotten out of prison after serving time on a bogus firearms rap. Ty was set up by the Federal Government to warn him to stop rescuing children overseas and violating the sovereignty of friendly nations. The Feds did their best to scare Christine into keeping Ty on the straight and narrow.

But now a child's life hangs in the balance and Ty and Christine feel that they have no choice but to risk everything...again.

In Rio, Ty and DOS SANTOS, a likeable but slightly crazed Brazilian cop, smash their way into the kidnappers' barrio hideout. During the wild battle that ensues, Ty is nearly decapitated with a machete. They find the little boy, but it's too late - he's dead. Ty is devastated by his failure.

The Feds are waiting for Ty when he arrives back in Southern California in a private plane. The pilots are some of his pals who hang out "gone fishing" signs on their various businesses in order to help Ty recover children. The Feds threaten everyone, trying to isolate Ty.

The Feds keep the Ritters under constant surveillance. The impact of the whole situation is devastating on the family. Christine wants Ty to try to find another way to save the children. She feels that he's really pushing his luck - he's been shot eight times and stabbed four times during his rescue attempts. Laury begs Ty to stop. She doesn't want to lose her daddy.

Ty has recurring nightmares about all the killing that he's done and feels like he's cursed - he can't know about what's going on and not try to stop it. Since he can't see another way to help, he refuses to quit.

Then Christine is harassed at gunpoint by the Feds in front of Laury and her whole school. It's the final straw. Ty promises Laury that he won't go out on another recovery. Ty's buddies are upset with him for hanging it up. "You know we can't do it without you." "You're tellin' us we just have to shut up and live with it?"

Ty and Christine decide that they'll tell their story to the media. They hope the ensuing public outcry over what's happening to so many innocent children will force the government to finally do something about it...But the media - with some urging from the Feds - won't listen. Ty and Christine feel helpless...defeated.

Then, Ty is approached by a couple whose young daughter was kidnapped out of their front yard on Christmas morning. He is torn, but turns them down. They plead tearfully with him. "But the FBI has no leads." "Please, help us." Christine can't take it. She tells Ty that he should try to help - take it one step at a time - and if he discovers that the little girl has been taken to South America, they'll deal with it - somehow.

Ty investigates and discovers, with Dos Santos' help, that the little girl is in Brazil. Now the Ritter family is faced again with the knowledge that a child's life is at stake. Christine and Laury make the agonizing decision..."Daddy, we want you to bring that little girl home."

Ty and his small group of friends make it out of the country with the Feds right on their tails. The rescue of the little girl ensnares Ty and the guys in the fight of their lives. Those that make it back know that the Feds are going to be waiting for them and this time they won't get off with only a warning...
